The Colonial Education Site is a re-created 17th-century environment used for educational activities for youth and adult groups. The programs that take place in this immersive environment include week-long summer workshops for kids, hands-on field trip enhancement programs, teacher training workshops, and family activities. For those who really want to experience the 17th century, we offer overnight programs where participants spend 20 hours dressed in colonial clothes, living (and sleeping) as the colonists did! To find out more about the exciting programs that take place here and how you can be involved, call 508-746-1622 ext. 8359.
These Houses are famous! The two houses on the Colonial Education site were built by Plimoth Plantation for the PBS show Colonial House which was filmed in Maine. Following the filming, the museum disassembled the houses and reconstructed them here on our Colonial Education Site.
